Let Him Hold Your Heart

C.S. Lewis once stated, "To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will possibly be broken."

Every girl everywhere today wants someone to come sweep her off her feet and steal her heart away.
So often, her heart is too open, and, therefore, too often easily broken.

No relationship ever delivers what was dreamt it could. Fantasy eventually collides with reality, and reality bites ... and sometimes hard.
Occasionally, the heart that was given away is found on the ground, shattered in a million pieces.

The broken one cries out in pain, "I gave you my heart, and you broke it!"
And there was no avoiding it - Every girl everywhere today is eager to give her heart away.

So how does one guard the heart to avoid brokenness again?
The answer is clear: you can't!

The loving father's natural instinct is to protect - especially when it comes to the heart of his beloved daughter.
However, again the answer is the same: he cannot guard his daughter's heart.

It is humanly impossible to guard the heart - male or female.
He Who created the heart and created love can alone guard the hearts of His creation.

Every painful thing experienced in relationships is meant to remind man of his need for Christ.
He hears the tears falling on the pavement. He understands the pain of loss, hurt, and confusion. He hears the cries of a broken heart.

He longs to hold that heart and renew, reshape, and remold it for His glory!
And He can use the brokenness and the shattered pieces of the heart and mold them into a beautiful, mosaic masterpiece.

Let Him Hold Your Heart.

In Philippians 4:6-7, we read: “in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will Guard Your Hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
